How Brain Training and Neurofeedback Helps Students

How Brain Training and Neurofeedback Helps Students

If you are a student, you know how much you use your brain. You use it every day of the week! Of course, everyone is always using their brains all the time, but students need to be using all different types of reasoning and thought processes for school. This is why it is important to exercise your brain and use neurofeedback.

Advanced Health and Performance Institute in Orlando and Winter Park offers neurofeedback training programs designed exclusively for students. Through our programs, we can help retrain your brain for optimized performance. If you’re having difficulty with concentration and distraction, contact AHPI today to see how we can help you.

Many students have not heard of this type of amazing brain training, but it is quickly becoming very popular on college campuses all over the United States and the rest of the world. Competitive students who are trying to get into competitive graduate and post-doc programs are using these techniques to get better scores on tests and exams, and they are finding it to be very successful.

What is brain training?

Your brain is a muscle. Consider the other muscles on your body and how you train them to get bigger and stronger. For example, if you want to get strong abs, you work them out in the gym. You do pushups, planks, crunches and other ab exercises so that they grow and become more proficient at what they do. Your brain is a muscle that is very similar to your abs in that it can be exercised as well. You can train your brain to do certain things that you never thought possible, and you can unlock the potential of your brain very easily.

What is neurofeedback?

Neurofeedback is a type of brain training. You can use neurofeedback to improve the function of your brain and make it work more efficiently. Our brain is active during each moment that we are alive. We can observe it working, learning and adapting in each moment.

Neurofeedback is performed when an individual sees their brain in action and tries to teach it something. The process is also called EEG Biofeedback. The individual sees what their brain is doing when they are hooked up to neurofeedback machines. You get attached to the machines by electrodes that are applied to the scalp. This allows you to literally listen to the brainwave activity of your brain.

The person then tries to teach that person to change its own activity and form new and different paths and thought processes. When the brain succeeds in learning and successfully changes its thought patterns or processes, it is rewarded. This is a form of self-training and self-regulation.

You can teach your brain new ways of studying for exams or coursework. You can teach your brain to pay attention better in class, or you can teach your brain to persevere better through difficult math problems or logic situations.

Many students also suffer from other emotional disorders like depression or anxiety, and these can cause problems for coursework and enjoyment of life. Brain training and neurofeedback has been proven to improve these areas of life as well. You can teach yourself how to be happier, better adjusted in social situations and more present in the current moment. It is all possible with neurofeedback.
