Brain Mapping is the process by which the tiny electrical impulses that pass through the skull are collected then analyzed into the Mini-Q Report. This process usually takes about an hour. It begins with proper skin preparation and a good contact gel (we use Electro-Gel) to make the connection between the electrodes in the cap and the surface of the scalp.
Once the data is collected, it is passed through a sophisticated database system that quickly analyzes the brainwave activity and then displays it an easy to read report. This report takes us less than a week to process. This process used to take weeks and was costly for ADHD treatment or brain training.
This report is reviewed by one of our clinicians and then discussed in a Report of Findings (ROF) appointment. The cognitive efficiency report can be produced in a short amount of time, so there is little down time between the BrainMap and your first Neurofeedback session. This report covers many different aspects of your brain including verbal processing, visual processing, emotional processing, cognition, levels of brain arousal and levels of brain under-arousal.
Reading and math comprehension are also factored into the report giving us a close look at how our brains not only read and do math, but how our brains are capable of learning new things. By understanding where the inefficiencies are, we can correct them through Neurofeedback. The benefit to this map is to specifically target the areas of the brain that are contributing to the problem. Visit our friendly office to learn the difference between biofeedback and neurofeedback.
